Harver’s Spoken Language Assessment evaluates candidates' level of quality of pronunciation and fluency to help understand the overall level of spoken language proficiency. There are 2 sections in the Spoken Language Assessment. One or both can be added to the module.
Scripted Speech
In this section, candidates go through three elements:
Pronunciation: Candidates pronounce specific words, and the system evaluates their pronunciation.
Read and Repeat: Candidates read out longer sentences to assess their fluency and pronunciation.
Listen and Repeat:: Candidates listen to an audio recording of short sentences, memorize them, and then repeat them out loud.
Spontaneous Speech
In this section, candidates are given a question prompt and must provide an unscripted response within a set time frame. The purpose is to evaluate their natural language proficiency.
Following a practice question that allows to candidate to experience the assessment and to validate their recording quality, there are either two or four questions, depending on the configured length. The questions are random.
