Virtual Interview Module Configuration

The Virtual Interview module allows candidates to record video responses to interview questions directly within the Harver platform. This module is commonly used to assess communication skills, presentation, role-specific scenarios, and overall candidate fit.

Settings

Rating Scales

You can customize the rating scale that recruiters will use when evaluating video responses.

Minimum scale: 3 points Maximum scale: 10 points Each rating can include an optional description (e.g., Poor, Average, Excellent). Use Reset to default to return to the standard 1–5 scale.

Limit Recording Attempts

You can enable or disable the limit on how many times a candidate may re-record their response.

When enabled, specify the maximum number of attempts allowed.

Translations

You can configure the module in multiple languages.

The Main Language is set when creating the module. Make sure to update all titles, instructions, and question text for each language.

Intro Page Configuration

Assessment Title

This title will appear on the module instruction page.

Estimated Time

Indicate the approximate time needed to complete the virtual interview.

Header Image

Upload a header image displayed on the instruction page.

Recommended: High resolution A single focal point Avoid: Portrait-format images Busy visuals Images containing text or logos

Supported formats: .png, .jpg, .jpeg (max 20MB)

Allow Candidates to Skip

You can decide if candidates are allowed to skip the entire Virtual Interview module.

Custom Block (Optional)

You may add additional instructions, text, or policies using a custom content block.

Enable the toggle to display this block. Includes rich text formatting for styling.

Interview Questions

You can add multiple questions. Each question includes:

  • Question Text
  • Max 1000 characters per question.

Video Upload (Optional)

Upload a video for the candidate to watch before responding (e.g., scenario introductions).

Must be .mp4 Max file size: 450MB

Answer Time

Define how long candidates have to record their response.

Maximum: 600 seconds (10 minutes)

Allow Skipping

Choose whether candidates may skip individual questions.

Rating Criteria

You can add rating guidelines for each question for your recruiters to see. 

Max 1000 characters Useful for aligning assessors on what to look for.
